IC 814 Kandahar Hijack: The film 'IC 814: The Kandar Hijack' based on the 1999 Kandhar plane hijack has created a stir. The film has come under controversy due to the use of Hindu names of terrorists in the film. BJP has raised questions on this.

Terrorists have Hindu names, demand for boycott of the film

BJP said that filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has done all this deliberately. BJP leader Amit Malviya said that an attempt has been made to hide the Muslim identity of the terrorists by using Hindu names. Now this film should be boycotted. Amit Malviya stressed that the people who hijacked IC-814 were terrorists and they used aliases to hide their Muslim identity. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has legitimized his criminal intentions by putting non-Muslim names in front. After decades, people will think that Hindus hijacked IC-814.

This is the agenda of the left

Malviya said that whitewashing the crimes of Pakistani terrorists is the agenda of the leftists. This is the power of cinema which the communists have been using aggressively since the 70s.

Five terrorists hijacked the plane

On 24 December 1999, Indian Airlines flight IC-814 with 176 passengers was flying from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport to New Delhi. The plane was hijacked during takeoff.

The plane was hijacked by five terrorists. These terrorists took the plane to Kandahar via Amritsar, Lahore, Dubai. This hijacking lasted for seven days.

real names of terrorists

The five terrorists who hijacked the plane were all Muslims. Their names were Ibrahim Akhtar, Shahid Akhtar, Sunny Ahmed, Zahoor Mistry and Shakir. However, in this film, the names of these terrorists have been changed to Bhola and Shankar. A controversy has arisen on this issue. There is a demand to boycott the film on social media as well.

In the film, actor Vijay Verma plays the role of pilot Captain Devi Sharan during the plane hijacking. The streaming of this series has started on Netflix.

Explanation by the film director

On changing the names of the terrorists to Hindu names, the director of the film series Mukesh Chhabda claimed that the terrorists involved in the incident used different names from each other i.e. fake names. A lot of research has been done to prepare this series.
