Bhopal. 31 August (HS). In the Paralympic Games held from 28 August to 08 September 2024 in Paris, France, on Saturday, Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy player Rubina Francis has made the country and the state proud by winning the bronze medal in the Women's 10 M. Air Pistol SH-1 event. With this, Rubina has become the first player of the state to win a medal in the Paralympic Games. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated and wished Rubina Francis on this achievement.
In the Women's 10m Air Pistol SH-1 event at the Paralympic Games held in Paris, Javanmardi S. of Iran won the gold medal with 236.8 points, Ozgan A. of Turkey won the silver with 231.1 points and Rubina Francis of India won the bronze medal with 211.1 points.
Sports Achievements of Rubina Francis
Jabalpur resident Rubina Francis joined the State Sports Academy in 2015. This is Rubina's second Olympics. Earlier, she was deprived of a medal in Tokyo Olympics. Rubina has made junior record 2 times in 2017 and 18 and equaled the world record once in France in 2018. Rubina Francis has won a total of 6 medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze in 10 international competitions so far. She has also increased the pride of the state by winning 17 medals including 13 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze at the national level.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated Indian shooter and Jabalpur's daughter Rubina Francis on winning the bronze medal through social media. He said that this victory of daughter Rubina will pave the way for success through struggle for the youth of the state, especially the daughters, along with the country. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has prayed to Baba Mahakal that this sequence of Rubina's victories continues and Rubina continues to make the country as well as Madhya Pradesh proud in this way.

Sports Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang has also praised Rubina Francis's sports performance and congratulated her. He said that Rubina has created history by winning a medal in the Paralympics. Rubina has become a new role model for the state. Rubina has made the state and the country proud by winning a medal in adverse circumstances. On this achievement of Rubina, Additional Chief Secretary of Sports Department Smita Bhardwaj and Sports Director have also congratulated Rubina on her historic performance.
