Pakistani player made a big allegation on PCB and also withdrew his name from Champions Cup | News India

Ahmad Shahzad: The performance of the Pakistan cricket team has not improved after the embarrassing performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, in which they lost by 10 wickets in the first match of the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh. Opener and long-time out batsman Ahmed Shahzad criticized the performance of the Pakistan team, he also criticized the PCB.

Now Shahzad has refused to play in the Champions Cup starting from September 12 in Pakistan, in which he also took a dig at the PCB and praised the 5 mentors announced for the tournament.

I do not accept false promises and injustice at all

Ahmed Shahzad informed about his decision not to play in the Champions Cup on the social media platform X, in which he tweeted, “I have decided not to play in the Champions Cup starting on September 12. I cannot tolerate the discrimination and injustice being done by the PCB with the players playing at the domestic level. On one hand, inflation is skyrocketing in Pakistan and poverty is increasing in the country, on the other hand, the PCB is wasting millions of rupees on 5 mentors who do nothing for the game and promote players who do not perform well.

In this tweet, Ahmed Shahzad further wrote that, PCB had earlier talked about major surgery, now they have said that they do not have any equipment for surgery, which is an insult to the players playing domestic cricket. I do not support such statements at all because I am not playing in these tournaments where your ability has no value.

The important thing is that Ahmed Shehzad has played 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20 matches so far, in which he played his last international match against Sri Lanka in 2017 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
