After the overthrow of PM Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh, Islamabad has become active in building good relations with Dhaka. The Pakistan High Commission claims that the leaders of the two countries stressed on reviving bilateral relations by enhancing cooperation in various fields. Noting the historical, religious and cultural ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Shahbaz expressed interest to Yunus in bilateral trade relations, cultural exchanges and deeper communication between the people of the two countries.
Pakistani political parties welcome change of power in Bangladesh
In a telephone conversation, Shahbaz-Yunus acknowledged the need to work together for the progress and prosperity of the people of both countries.
