Paris, August 29 (HS). Paris Paralympics has begun and with this the Indian warriors have started leaving their mark. On Thursday, Indian para-athlete Sheetal Devi created history by making her debut in the Paralympics. She has made it to the quarterfinals of the women's individual compound archery. Sheetal performed brilliantly in the qualification round and scored 703 out of 720 points.

Sheetal finished second in the women's individual compound archery event with 703 points. She scored 703 points, breaking the previous world record of 698 points. However, her happiness did not last long and Turkish archer Curie Girdi broke Sheetal's record by scoring 704 points.

Due to Curie Girardi's performance of 704 points, Sheetal Devi got second place in the overall ranking round. She has got a bye in the next round. Now Sheetal will play the quarterfinal match on August 31 at around 9 pm.
