Kanpur, 28 August (HS). The weather department has forecast that due to light clouds in the next five days, there is a possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms with local rainfall from 28 to 31 August. Kanpur city recorded 12.4 mm rainfall on Wednesday.
Dr. S.N. Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, said that on Wednesday the maximum temperature of the day was 29.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 24.6 degrees Celsius. Talking about the relative humidity, the maximum was 95 percent and the minimum was 94 percent. The average wind speed was 7.8 kilometers per hour. The wind direction was south-east and a record of 12.4 mm rainfall was recorded on Wednesday.

The meteorologist said that a deep depression remains over Saurashtra and Kutch. It is likely to move in a west-southwest direction over Saurashtra and Kutch region and reach the Saurashtra and Kutch coast and adjoining areas of Pakistan and the north-east Arabian Sea by the morning of August 29. The low pressure area over northern Madhya Pradesh and south-eastern Uttar Pradesh has become less marked.
Gujarat will get heavy to very heavy rains
The monsoon trough at mean sea level is now extending from the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch, passing through Ratlam, Damoh, Sidhi, Churk, Jamshedpur, Digha and then in a southeasterly direction to the Bay of Bengal. The offshore trough lies from South Gujarat to Kerala coast.
