Gorakhpur, 27 August (HS). A series of lectures was organized on Tuesday in the memory of Yugpurush Brahmaleen Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and Rashtrasant Brahmaleen Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj as part of the weekly celebrations on the occasion of the third foundation day of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur. In the lecture series, Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari (CEO Innovation, Research and International Relations MGY Medical University) and Colonel Dr. RK Chaturvedi (Former Director, JSS Hospital, Mysore) guided the nursing students on the past, present and future of nursing.
Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari said that the history of nursing is thousands of years old. The modern form of nursing evolved from the work of Florence Nightingale, who gave nursing a professional recognition during the Crimean War in the 1850s and it was viewed from a scientific and disciplined perspective. Nursing is a professional field that is constantly striving to meet the health care needs of society. There are immense employment opportunities in this profession through nursing innovation. In today's time, nursing has become a broad and diverse professional field. From basic care to specialized areas such as reproductive health, mental health, and pediatrics, the responsibilities of nurses are yielding good results in caring for patients, diagnosis, management of medical procedures.
While answering the students' questions on the future of nursing, Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari said that there are many possibilities and challenges in the direction of nursing in the future. With the development of medical technology, nurses will need more advanced technical skills. Nurses will have to keep themselves prepared with advanced technologies like robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Innovations in nursing can enrich modern education and medical service. In the future, robotics technology and artificial intelligence can be used effectively in the field of nursing.
In the lecture series, Colonel Dr. RK Chaturvedi gave the basic mantra to the nurses and said that the first responsibility of the nurses is patience, second is to maintain a medical point of view, third is to aim and the fourth responsibility is to try to complete the work with a pleasant smile. He said that nurses are the form of mother in medical service. Just like a mother is devoted to her child, nurses should serve the patient like a midwife. On this occasion, Principal of Nursing College Dr. DS Ajitha honored both the guests by presenting them mementoes.
