Lucknow, 26 August (HS). On the 40th day of Muharram, a Chehlum procession was taken out from Lucknow's Bada Imambara to Talkatora Imambara in memory of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain. Before the Chehlum procession, Maulana Kalve Javvad addressed the gathering there. All the people of the Muslim community who participated in the Chehlum procession participated with moist eyes. Lucknow Commissionerate Police provided security with full arrangements when the procession started. While moving towards Talkatora, people in the procession sang Noha Khwani in memory of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
In view of the security of the Chehallum procession, a heavy police force was present on the marked route on Monday along with Deputy Commissioner of Police West Omvir Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishwajit Srivastava. Hundreds of policemen in plain clothes were also deployed at various places to ensure the security of the procession.
