The troubles of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are continuously increasing. According to media reports, four more murder cases have been registered today against Sheikh Hasina, her former cabinet ministers and associates.
Meanwhile, former Bangladesh Textile Minister Ghulam Dastagir Gazi has been arrested. The police have not yet disclosed the case in which he has been arrested. A murder case has been registered against 76-year-old Hasina, former Bangladesh Border Guard director general Aziz Ahmed and 11 others in the death of then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) officer Abdul Rahim in 2010.
Rahim, a former deputy assistant director of BDR, was an accused in a case registered in connection with the Pilkhana massacre. He died in jail on 29 July the same year. Rahim's son, advocate Abdul Aziz, filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Akhtar Uzma.
According to the agency, a case was registered on Sunday against Hasina and 48 others in connection with the murder of a Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) student during an anti-discrimination student movement on July 18.
A murder case has been filed against Hasina and 27 others for the killing of a seller of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products in Dhaka during the recent protests.
Another case has been registered against 25 people, including Hasina, for the murder of an auto-rickshaw driver during the recent protests in Dhaka.
With this, a total of 53 cases have been registered against Sheikh Hasina. These include 44 cases of murder, seven cases of crimes against humanity, one case of kidnapping and one case of attacking the procession of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
