Nepalese pilgrims injured in Samastipur: A bus coming from Nepal met with an accident near Musarigharari crossing in Samastipur, Bihar. This morning (August 25), a speeding truck hit the bus from behind, injuring at least 35 Nepali pilgrims, including women and children, travelling in the bus. When the police came to know about the incident, all the injured were taken to the hospital with the help of local people.
35 Nepali pilgrims were injured
Regarding the incident, a police officer of Samastipur Sadar subdivision said, 'This incident happened early in the morning near Musarigharari crossing on National Highway-28. People present at the spot said that a speeding truck hit the Nepali bus from behind, after which the bus overturned. In which 35 Nepali pilgrims were injured.
Police reached the spot
On receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot and took out the injured passengers from the bus and admitted them to a nearby hospital. Police said, only two passengers were seriously injured in the incident and they have been referred to other hospitals. However, all the injured passengers were discharged from the hospital after treatment.
Police seized both the bus and the truck
Police officials said, 'Both the bus and the truck have been seized and further investigation is underway.' Locals said, 'The devotees from Nepal were on their way to worship in Deoghar district of Jharkhand when the accident happened on the way.'
