Yogi government preparing to brand UP as a global IT hub | News India

Lucknow, 24 August (HS). The Yogi government, which is projecting UP as a brand in every sector, is now preparing to make the state a brand of global IT hub. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has resolved to make five districts of the state suitable for industries related to IT and ITES sector.

Under this, five cities of the state, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj are to be developed as IT cities. In this too, Gautam Buddha Nagar is to be developed as a hub of IT and ITES, Lucknow as a hub of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Kanpur as a hub of drones and robotics and Varanasi and Prayagraj as a hub of Engineering Research and Development (ER&D) Centre.

The Yogi government is moving ahead with the goal of making the state's economy a one trillion economy in the next three years. In this sequence, the government is also focusing on taking the state to new heights in the IT and ITES sector. This includes skill development in emerging technologies to increase employment potential in the state and create high-paying jobs. Along with this, creating a land bank for the IT and ITES sector and enhancing infrastructure for the development of IT cities and IT parks is also one of the important objectives of the government.

Yogi government may soon form a state level IT and ITES advisory committee to develop the state as a brand of IT hub. This will help in preparing measures and strategies to promote this sector in the state by joining with the industry and academic stakeholders of this sector. At the same time, the government is also considering giving industry status to the IT sector. So that electricity can be made available to IT units on industrial tariff.

Apart from this, a strategy is being made to attract investors related to AI, drone industry and investors of Gulf Corporations Council to invest in the IT sector of the state. Along with this, branding of UP cities being developed as IT hubs through technology related conferences is also being considered in the state.
