3 Super Overs in T20 match: There was tremendous excitement on the cricket field on 23 August in the Maharaja T20 Trophy. Hubli Tigers registered a thrilling victory after three super overs. Hubli Tigers batted first and scored 164 runs. In response, Bengaluru Blasters also scored 164 runs. After this the match went into a super over but perhaps for the first time in cricket history, three super overs were played in a single match.
In a nail-biting encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Hubli Tigers won the Maharaja T20 Trophy in a thrilling match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday that saw a close contest between the two teams that went on for three Super Overs.
Bengaluru Blasters scored just five runs out of six to beat Hubli with three wickets to spare in stipulated time. Ganeshwar Navi gave the Blasters a lead by hitting a four off the first ball of the 20th over but was dismissed off the second ball.
Then AL Kumar bowled two dot balls. Then on the fifth ball, Lavis dismissed Kaushal. However, he and his fellow batsman Kranti Kumar also took a run. Kranti got run out while trying to save a run on the last ball, which took the match into a super over.
First Super Over
Bengaluru Blasters captain Mayank Agarwal was out on the very first ball but the team came back on the score of 10 runs on the basis of Anirudh Joshi's six on the last ball. Manish Pandey hit a big shot, Tigers needed eight runs from three balls, but when the score was 2 runs from 1 ball, Pandey was caught out on the ball of bowler Kaushal. Then Tigers equalized in the super over by taking one run.

This time Pandey came out to open with Manwant Kumar. Manwant was the player who defended 164 runs in this match and took 4 wickets for 33 runs. Before this, he also played an innings of 28 runs in 15 balls. But in the second super over, he and Pandey could score only eight runs. Then fast bowler Vidwat Kaverappa bowled brilliantly for his team. Despite giving a four in the beginning, he gave only four more runs which took the match to the third super over.
Third Super Over
Then Hubli Tigers came out to bat. Manwant Kumar and captain Manish Pandey came to open. Kranti Kumar was bowling. He took the match forward by hitting a four on the second ball, but Kranti made a strong comeback and gave only three runs on the next three balls (one of which was extra). Tigers now needed four runs on the last ball and Manwant won the match by hitting a four.
