New Delhi, August 21 (HS). Indian national team head coach Manolo Marquez on Wednesday announced a list of 26 probable players for the preparatory camp for the three-nation Intercontinental Cup to be held in Hyderabad during the FIFA window from September 3 to 9 this year.
Syria, which is ranked 93rd in the latest FIFA rankings, and Mauritius, which is ranked 179th, are the other two teams in the competition. India is currently ranked 124th.
According to an All India Football Federation (AIFF) press release, the preparatory camp will begin on August 31 in Hyderabad.
Announcing the probables, India's new head coach Marquez said, “We are very excited about our first preparatory camp and I know it will be the same for the players as well. We are facing two different teams, rankings are not very important. We need to work together in the same direction to find the right group of players and they will be very inclined, which I am completely confident about. I know we are all in the pre-season and we have good challenges ahead of us. Wearing the national team jersey is a great honour and we have to show it to all our fans.”

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh, Amrinder Singh, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill.
Defenders: Nikhil Pujari, Rahul Bheke, Chinglensana Singh Konsham, Roshan Singh Naorem, Anwar Ali, Jai Gupta, Ashish Rai, Subhashish Bose, Mehtab Singh.
Midfielders: Suresh Singh Wangjam, Jackson Singh, Nandakumar Sekar, Naorem Mahesh Singh, Yasir Mohammad, Lalengmawia Ralte, Anirudh Thapa, Sahal Abdul Samad, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Lalthathanga Khawlring.
Forwards: Kian Nasiri Giri, Edmund Lalrindika, Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco.

3 September: India v Mauritius.
6 September: Syria v Mauritius.
