A bus carrying Shia pilgrims from Pakistan to Iraq met with an accident. A dangerous bus accident took place in which 28 people died. Also, 14 people are said to be seriously injured in this accident.
Every year many Shia pilgrims travel from Pakistan to Iraq. But on the night of 20 August, a bus going to Iraq met with an accident in Yazd, Iraq. There were 51 people on board the bus at the time of the accident. It is said that at least 28 people died. Local emergency official Mohammad Ali Malekzadeh said that the accident took place in Iran's Yazd province on Tuesday night. He said that 23 people were injured in the accident, out of which 14 people are in critical condition.

Emergency services official Mohammad Ali Malakzadeh said a total of 51 people were on board the bus at the time of the accident. The pilgrims were travelling to Iraq for Arbain, a ritual performed on the 40th day of the martyrdom of the seventh-century Shiite prophet.
Pilgrims visit Iraq in large numbers
