The teams of Pakistan and Bangladesh are going to face each other in a two-match Test series. The series starting from August 21 under the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 will be played in Pakistan itself, which is very important for both the teams. In such a situation, Pakistan has taken a big decision to win this series. But this decision of Pakistan can also prove to be costly for it.
Pakistan took a big decision to win the Test series
The first Test between the two teams will be played in Rawalpindi from 21 to 25 August. After failing to win their last two Test matches played on the flat batting-friendly track of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to prepare a grassy pitch favorable to fast bowlers for the series. According to a report, the Pakistan team has asked the curator to prepare a pitch for the first Test against Bangladesh that will be very helpful for the fast bowlers.
But it is not easy for Pakistani batsmen to score runs on a grassy pitch. Asia usually has spin-fandrel pitches. In such a situation, Pakistani players do not have much experience of playing on grassy pitches. It was a complete flop in its last tour of Australia, where only grassy pitches are used. Pakistani batsmen were seen struggling to score runs in Australia.
Pakistan team will take the field without a spinner
Pakistan has dropped spinner Abrar Ahmed from the team before the series. In such a situation, Pakistan will now take the field without any specialist spinner in the first Test against Bangladesh. This will be the second time since September 1995 that Pakistan will play without a specialist spinner in a home Test. It is believed that Pakistan's bowling attack will include four fast bowlers. Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza are certain to be selected, while the fourth fast bowler can be either Khurram Shahzad or Mohammad Ali.
