Kiev/Moscow, August 19 (HS). Ukraine has destroyed an important bridge in Russia's Kursk region and attacked another bridge nearby. After the continuous attack by the Ukrainian army in Russia's Kursk region, Ukraine has targeted another bridge to weaken Russia's counter attack. Due to this, the supply of Russian forces has been affected. This attack has happened in less than two weeks of infiltration from across the border. This attack has disrupted the Russian supply route.
Meanwhile, in Rostov, Russia, a warehouse caught fire after being hit by debris of a Ukrainian drone. Diesel was stored there.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said on Sunday that Ukraine has deployed more than 120,000 troops along its border with Belarus and Minsk has deployed about a third of its armed forces along the entire border.
However, Moscow can use pontoons and other means to reach here. A video was shared by the Ukrainian Air Force on Friday, showing a damaged bridge. Just two days ago, another bridge over the Siam River was demolished.
It was not officially clear where the second bridge was located, but a Russian Telegram channel said it was near Jwanno on Siam. According to Russia's Mash news site, the attacks have left only one bridge in the area. This has increased the challenge of Moscow's efforts to reach help to the Russian army and to evacuate civilians from the area.
Meanwhile, Russia attacked Kiev with missiles on Sunday. Cruise and ballistic missiles were used in the attack. This is the third ballistic missile attack on Kiev by Russia this month. Russia is firing missiles here every six days. However, they were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense system.
Ukrainian Air Force Major General Lt. Mykola Oleshchuk on Friday released a video of the Ukrainian airstrike that split the bridge in two, less than two days after Ukrainian troops attacked a second bridge in Russia, according to Oleshchuk and Russian regional governor Alexei Smirnov.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky late Saturday urged Kiev's allies to lift sanctions over the use of Western weapons to strike targets in Russia's interior, including Kursk.
“It is important that our partners remove the obstacles that prevent us from weakening the Russian positions as this war demands,” Zelensky said on the social media platform 'X'. … The bravery of our soldiers and the resilience of our combat brigades compensate for the lack of necessary decision-making on the part of our partners.
