United States: A big news is coming out regarding the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. In which the US court has given a big blow to Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman Tahawwur Rana, accused of being involved in the terrorist attack. Now the US court, while giving its verdict, said that Rana can be extradited to India under the extradition treaty.

Rana challenges his extradition to India in court

Delivering a verdict on a petition filed by Rana, a panel of judges of the US Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal of Rana's habeas corpus petition by the District Court for the Central District of California. In his petition, Rana had challenged his extradition to India for his alleged involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks. The panel said that Rana's alleged crime falls within the terms of the extradition treaty between the United States and India.

There was a terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008

It is worth mentioning that in 2008, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who came in a boat from Pakistan held Mumbai hostage for about 60 hours. During this time, the terrorists killed more than 160 people. In retaliation, Indian security forces killed 9 terrorists on the spot, while one terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught alive.
