People present on the spot claim that due to the flood and strong current of the Ganga river, a part of the superstructure built on pillar number 9 was left which suddenly collapsed and drowned in the water. As soon as this structure collapsed and fell into the water, there was such a sound that the nearby residents got scared.
The structure collapsed for the third time
You will also be surprised to know that this is the third incident when a part of the Agwani Sultanganj four-lane bridge has collapsed. Earlier on 20 April 2022, pillar number 5 also collapsed due to storm. After this, on 4 May 2023, the super structure of pillar number 9, 10, 11, 12 towards Agwani took Jal Samadhi.
