Thailand's parliament has elected Patongtarn Shinawatra as the Prime Minister. He is the country's youngest Prime Minister. Patongtarn, 37, is the youngest daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. In addition to her father, her aunt Yingluck has also served as Prime Minister of Thailand, making her Thailand's youngest and second female Prime Minister.
Shinawatra is the third member of his family to reach this position. His father Thaksin Shinawatra returned to the country only last year after 15 years of exile.
