Kushinagar, 14 August (HS). When our great nation, which gave the message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah' to the whole world, was divided for political gain. During this time, people endured extremely inhuman tortures, suffered the cruel pain of migration, built homes by putting every bit of hard work, were deprived of property, countless people lost their lives. Partition Horror Memorial Day reminds us of that.
The year 1947 witnessed one of the most devastating displacements in the history of mankind due to the Partition. The riots and violence that broke out during the Partition took the lives of millions of people. It was a disturbing event, such a terrible tragedy. The acceptance of Partition by the Congress government of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is an unfortunate event. The partition of India resulted in the death of 6 lakh people, 1.5 crore people were rendered homeless. 1 lakh women were raped. This Partition is one of the largest displacements in human history, forcing millions of families to leave their native villages and cities and live a new life as refugees.
This was said by BJP's state minister and district in-charge Shakuntala Chauhan while addressing the Partition Vibhishika Smriti Diwas seminar organized by BJP in a school in Padrauna on Wednesday as the chief guest. She said that Pandit Nehru not only divided the country to get the chair of the Prime Minister but also bathed the land of India with the blood of lakhs of people. The seeds of hatred that were sown at that time will have to be completely destroyed by many generations to come. The British always followed the policy of divide and rule, which their sons-in-law are following even today while being in the Congress party. They had divided the citizens of India into different groups.
Dr. Principal Mamta Mani Tripathi, former District President Jagdamba Singh, Dr. Premchand Mishra, Jaiprakash Shahi, Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal, Fazilnagar MLA Surendra Singh Kushwaha, Ramkola MLA Vinay Prakash Gond, Khadda MLA Vivekanand Pandey, Padrauna Municipal Council President Vinay Jaiswal also addressed the meeting. District President Durgesh Rai presided over the meeting and expressed his gratitude.
