UNITED NATIONS: Praising President Muhammad Yunus' efforts to bring peace and hold elections in Bangladesh, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that women, youth, minorities and tribals should be equally represented in the Cabinet after the elections.

Regarding the statement of the UN Secretary General, his deputy spokesperson Farah Haq said that he will stand firmly with the people of Bangladesh. He will also see that human rights are adequately respected.

President Muhammad Yunus, 84, said the cabinet should have equal representation of minorities, women, youth and tribals.

Guterres also suggested investigating the riots and arresting those who played a leading role in the riots.
