Ayodhya, August 13 (HS). On the instructions of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University Vice Chancellor Prof. Pratibha Goyal, a special camp was organized at Mani Parvat Old Age Home on Tuesday afternoon by the teachers and students of the Department of Social Work and Sociology course under Anubhuti Ek Prayas. In which the students got information about the psychosocial problems, needs and personal problems of the inmates living in the ashram.
They came to know that some elderly people left their homes and reached old age homes after getting fed up of the taunts of their family members. The students showed love, affection and respect towards these elderly people. Some elderly people in the camp said that they miss their family members a lot but they will not return home. The ashram is their home and the people living here are their family members.
This program was organized by social work department coordinator Dr. Dinesh Kumar Singh and sociology teacher Dr. Pratibha. Dr. Dinesh Singh said that today's children do not have time to take care of the elderly nor do they have the spirit of service. Due to the increasing influence of western culture, mutual trust, love, harmony, co-ordination and spirit of service is decreasing in families. During this, Dr. Pragya Pandey, Dr. Prabhat Singh, Seema, Swatantra Kumar, Abhishek Verma, Sakshi, Vatsalya, Ruchi, Samridhi Singh, Pinky Yadav, Anupama, Akanksha and others were present.
