Nitish Kumar's government has taken a big decision regarding the land of Waqf Board in Bihar. The Bihar government is preparing to build multi-purpose buildings, marriage halls, market complexes and other structures for the development of properties registered under Sunni and Shia Waqf Board. Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan announced this and said that the government has also decided to establish 21 new madrasas in different parts of the state.
What did the minister say?
Jama Khan said that ten projects were proposed for the construction of multi-purpose buildings, market complexes and libraries in Patna, Purnia, Kaimur, Katihar, Kishanganj, Nawada and Siwan in 2023-24. An amount of Rs 105.13 crore was allocated for this. These projects were proposed for the construction of multi-purpose buildings, guest houses, marriage halls, Waqf office buildings and market complexes in Siwan and Bhagalpur districts.
Before this, 10 new madrasas were built
Minister Jama Khan said that this work is being done under the Bihar State Waqf Development Scheme. Apart from this, under the Bihar State Madrasa Strengthening Scheme (BRMSY), the state government has decided to build 21 new madrasas in different parts of the state. Recently, the construction work of ten madrasas has been completed in the state.
The state government is concerned about the safety of Waqf properties
When asked about sending the Waqf Amendment Bill-2024 introduced in the Lok Sabha by the Central Government to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), he said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is sensitive to the sentiments of minority communities in the state. And he is serious about welfare. Whatever decision will be taken will definitely be in the interest of the society. He assured that the state government is concerned about the safety of Waqf properties in the state and the government will ensure that there is no encroachment on such properties.
