No trace of the absconding accused after 72 hours, police sent the accused who helped him to escape to jail

Jaunpur, 11 August (HS). Even after 72 hours, the police have not been able to trace the absconding prisoner Jai Prakash Gaikwad, a resident of Maharashtra, who escaped while going to the lockup after being presented in the civil court last Friday. At the same time, a young man has been arrested, saying that he is the main mastermind behind the escape of the accused.

Police has claimed that the accused who helped in escaping the prisoner is Umesh Gaur, a resident of Saidanpur. Action was taken against him on Sunday and he has been sent to jail. When his name came up in the escape of the prisoner, the police was actively looking for him. He was trying to escape from the police when he was arrested. He is also of criminal nature and many criminal cases are registered against him in the police station.
