A five-match Test series will be held between India and Australia from 22 November to 7 January. The first match of this series will be played at Perth Stadium. Preparations for this series are going on in Australia. Australian cricket is going to benefit a lot from this series. Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley has described India's upcoming five-Test series in Australia as similar to the Ashes from a commercial point of view.

The broadcasting rights of the series have also been sold for a very high dollar. CA has signed a deal of 1.5 billion Australian dollars with Foxtel and Seven Network for the home series against India.

Big statement by CEO of Cricket Australia

There is a lot of curiosity about the match to be played between the two countries at the top of the World Test Championship table. India has won the last Border Gavaskar Trophy played in Australia. In such a situation, there is a lot of pressure on the Australian team regarding this series. India defeated Australia 2-1 in the Test series in 2018-19 and 2020-21. Now the Indian team is trying to make a historic hat-trick of series wins. Hockley said during an interview that both the Border Gavaskar Trophy and the Ashes are major tours on the Australian cricket calendar and are quite comparable from a commercial point of view, both attracting large crowds and a large fan base. Ticket sales from India are six times higher than the previous non-Covid series.

Day-night test will be played

The second Test of the series will be a day-nighter, with the hosts having won 11 of the 12 pink ball Tests by using their fast bowlers to great effect. On Friday, Cricket Australia announced a two-day match (November 30-December 1) at the Manuka Oval for the India tour as a warm-up for the Adelaide pink ball Test starting on December 6. On the last tour, India were bowled out for 36 in the Adelaide day-night Test.
