Thousands of people from the Hindu community are present on the India-Bangladesh border and are appealing to enter India. More than 1,000 Bangladeshi Hindus are standing in a lake in Sitalkuchi, Cooch Behar, Bengal and are appealing to the BSF to allow us to enter India.

People trying to cross the border shout Jai Shri Ram slogans at Pathantuli village in Kashir Baruni area of Cooch Behar
They stood in the lake water and waited for hours. Many of them also raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata.

The BSF stopped these people 150 yards away at the zero point of the border. The BSF jawans repeatedly appealed to them to go back but they were not ready to go back.

At present, the BSF is on alert regarding border security and is monitoring the situation. BSF officials said that this is the largest group to enter India so far. This is a new challenge for us.
