BHU moves towards digital connectivity, services and information available through mobile app

Varanasi, 09 August (HS). It has now become easier for more than 40,000 students, teachers and employees of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to get information, selected services and information related to the university. For this, the university administration has launched a mobile app named “Namaste BHU”. Launched on the initiative of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain, the aim of this app is to increase digital connectivity in the university and make services and information easily available to the users. This is an important step towards providing a better campus environment and experience to the students and teachers of the university.

The “Namaste BHU” app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app provides information about the university's institutes, faculties, departments and the academic courses being run there, essential information related to the university, names, designations, phone numbers and emails of officers, teachers and important officials, etc. Through this app, users can view millions of books, research papers and e-resources of the Central Library of Banaras Hindu University and save their time by finding the material they need. Apart from this, students can also register complaints related to their admission, examination, fees or any other subject on the app. On the Namaste BHU app, the guardians of the hostels can also register complaints related to the hostel, so that they can be resolved as soon as possible. Emergency numbers of the university as well as the local administration have also been made available on the app.

Coordinator of Institution of Eminence – BHU, Prof. Sanjay Kumar said that the main objective of this app is to provide students and teachers with easy access to essential information related to the university, including academic details, library, holidays, and emergency contact. This initiative started under IOE promotes digital connectivity. University Advisor T.V. Prabhakaran, who is leading the team of “Namaste BHU” app, said that soon many more facilities will be available on this app, including counseling facility for students and providing all important notifications. Students, teachers and employees can start using “Namaste BHU” by creating their account on this app through mobile phones registered in the university database. This university has joined the select higher educational institutions of the country to launch such an app.
