Jaunpur, 09 August (HS). On Friday, Jaiprakash Gaikwad, a resident of Maharashtra, who was accused in the murder case of the famous property dealer, land mafia and SP leader Bala Lakhandar Yadav, escaped by dodging the police while returning from the civil court.

As soon as the accused absconded, there was a stir in the police department. In a hurry, the police of the nearby police stations were alerted but he could not be caught. It is known that the SP leader and land mafia was shot dead by unknown miscreants on the night of February 1, 2021 while walking at the city station of Line Bazar police station area. At that time, on the complaint of the family, the police had registered a murder case against the three including the block pramukh of Madiaun. During the investigation, the names of Om Chandra Gupta, resident of Saidanpar village of the police station area, Umesh Gaur, Ritesh Singh, resident of Rampur Nadi of Madiaun police station area and Jaiprakash Gaikwad of Maharashtra came to light in the murder case. The police arrested him on February 10, 2021 and sent him to jail.
