It is worth noting here that Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 87.58 meters. This time he had to settle for the silver medal due to the excellent performance of his opponent.
Pakistan won Olympic medal after 32 years
Arshad Nadeem of the neighboring country has won an Olympic medal for his country after 32 years. Pakistan last won a medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nadeem threw the javelin 92.97 meters in his second throw. With this, it also became an Olympic record. His sixth and final throw was 91.79 meters. The previous Olympic record was in the name of Andreas T of Norway, who threw 90.57 meters in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This time the bronze medal was won by Anderson Peters of Grenada.
