Amid the change of power and ongoing violence in neighboring Bangladesh, Nobel Prize winning economist Mohammad Yunus reached Bangladesh's capital Dhaka directly from Paris on Thursday afternoon. He will soon be sworn in as the head of the interim government after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. He has given his first statement after reaching Dhaka. In this, he said that the government will decide the safety of the people. The whole of Bangladesh is one family. The duty of the government is to protect everyone.
Famous economist Mohammad Yunus was awarded the Nobel Prize in the year 2006. This award was given to him for small loans and good works. 84-year-old Yunus has been appointed the head of the interim government after President Mohammad Shahabuddin dissolved the Parliament.
He welcomed the Army Chief at Dhaka airport
Nobel Prize-winning economist Muhammad Yunus went to Paris for the Olympic Games. From there he has returned directly to Bangladesh from Dubai. After landing at Dhaka airport at 2.10 pm, he was welcomed at the airport by Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, senior officials, student leaders and others.
Yunus met the media at the airport. He thanked the youth who protested against Sheikh Hasina. Yunus said that we have got independence for the second time. We have to protect this independence. The country is now in your hands. You have to rebuild it as per your expectations.
