Ban on Ihsanullah Jannat : The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on August 7 that the team's top-order batsman Ihsanullah Janat has been banned from all cricketing activities for five years after being found guilty of corruption charges. Afghanistan's shining star Ihsanullah has also been suspended with immediate effect.

The ACB said Janat had violated the anti-corruption rules of both the ACB and the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the second edition of the Kabul Premier League in 2024. Janat Shamshad played for the Eagles in the Kabul Premier League earlier this year and scored 72 runs in four innings. Janat, 26, has played three Tests, 16 ODIs and one T20 for Afghanistan since making her youngest debut in 2017.

Sanctions due to corruption:

According to the ACB statement, Janat was found guilty of violating Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, which relates to attempts to improperly influence or alter any aspect of the match. For this offence, he has been banned from all cricket-related activities for five years.
