Islamabad: A resolution was presented in the Parliament of Pakistan on 6 August. It said that India should continue the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Which has been abolished by removing Article 370. Not only this, but the resolution presented in the Parliament had many meaningless demands on Kashmir, which was supported by almost all the MPs, but senior MP from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan Achakzai strongly opposed it. In that resolution, the old resentment regarding Kashmir was rekindled and it was said that: Kashmir belongs to Pakistan, we will take it.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai opposed it and also voted against the resolution. He said, I am not opposing the freedom of the people of Kashmir, but both India and Pakistan are lying about Kashmir. It is not right that India says that Kashmir is its part, on the other hand, Pakistan also says that Kashmir is ours. Let the Kashmiris decide who they want to go to. If they say we want to go with India then we should say goodbye, if they say we want to join Pakistan then we should say: Welcome Kashmiri people should be asked who you want to join. If they decide to remain independent instead of joining any country, they should be allowed to remain independent. It is not acceptable for India or Pakistan to claim it.
With this, a huge uproar started in the Parliament of Pakistan. When Achakzai was not asked to speak further, this senior MP got angry. He called the speaker a havaldar and said that he is like a havaldar who stands at the gate to protect the government.
This Mahmood Khan Achakzai is an MP from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is a Pashtun nationalist and supports the demand for a separate state. He is the president of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. His father Abdul Sajad Khan was also a Pashtun nationalist. He was assassinated. He was also elected from Balochistan once.
