Kathmandu, 6 August (HS). Amid the rains in Nepal since Monday night and the warning of heavy rains in the next 24 hours, the government has ordered a ban on the operation of night bus services in several districts.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain from Tuesday night to the next 24 hours. The department has appealed to the people living in coastal areas to be especially cautious. Due to the rain, most of the rivers in the country are flowing above the danger mark. Many areas of Kathmandu have been submerged.

With the warning of heavy rains, the administration has instructed to stop the operation of night passenger buses in some districts. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority under the Home Ministry has issued an information asking to stop the operation of night buses in dozens of districts.

Authority spokesman Bijan Bhattarai informed about the ban on the operation of passenger buses passing through Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Rasuwa, Chitwan, Sindhupalchok, Dhading, Nuwakot, Dolakha, Myagdi, Baglung, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, Nawalparasi East, Lamjung and Gorkha districts.

Besides, keeping in view the danger of landslides due to heavy rains, operation of night bus services has been banned in Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Palpa, Gulmi, Banke, Bardiya, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Rukum West, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti and Baitadi districts.
