The Gurugram team of Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday arrested District Fisheries Officer Vedpal posted in Rewari district red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 40 thousand. He had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 45 thousand in exchange for releasing the subsidy amount to a woman.
According to the information, the team of Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau Gurugram had received a complaint in this regard. Confirming the case, the ACB team made a plan to nab the accused. 25 fish bio flow tanks were installed under the scheme run by the complainant's wife in the Fisheries Department. For this, a loan of up to 60 percent i.e. Rs 17 lakh 75 thousand was also taken from the bank by the complainant's wife. Under this scheme, subsidy amount was to be provided to the woman by the Fisheries Department. In return for approving the amount of this subsidy, District Fisheries Officer Vedpal was demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 45 thousand from the woman. Out of which a bribe of Rs 10,000 had already been taken by the accused. The accused was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 40 thousand. This entire proceeding was conducted impartially and with complete transparency in front of the witnesses. A case has been registered against the accused in Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau, Gurugram and he has been arrested.
