East Champaran, 04 August (HS). Two smugglers of the district have been arrested with charas worth 10 crores. The above action was taken by Kuchaykot police station of Gopalganj district on Saturday at Balthari checkpost on UP-Bihar border.
It was told that after a secret information, checking of vehicles coming from East Champaran on NH 27 was started, during this a Swift Dzire car with Delhi number was seen coming. When the car was stopped and searched, 71.140 kg of hashish was recovered from the basement made in the car, along with this two smugglers were arrested. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Sudish Kumar of Mufassil police station area of East Champaran and Mandeep Kumar of Parsauni village of Patahi police station area. During interrogation, the smugglers told that they were taking the hashish from Nepal to Delhi.
The cost of the recovered hashish is estimated to be Rs 10 crore in the international market. The Narcotics Control Bureau has also been informed to investigate this. According to Gopalganj SP Swarn Prabhat, a team has been formed to investigate this entire network of drug smuggling.
