Saharsa, 3 August (HS). A meeting of the District Fertilizer Monitoring Committee was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate to monitor the operation, distribution, maintenance and sale of fertilizers under Kharif. District Agriculture Officer, District Cooperative Officer, Deputy Development Commissioner, District Advisor and Mahisi MLA Gunjeshwar Sah, District Council President Kiran Devi etc. were present in the meeting. In the meeting, the District Agriculture Officer told that 9948.88 MT Urea, 1339.170 MT DAP, 924.070 MT AOP, 4120.280 MT NPK and 661.900 MT SSP are available in the district. No complaint of fertilizer shortage has been received from the farmers.
Mahisi MLA Gunjeshwar Sah informed that no complaint has been received from farmers regarding the non-availability of fertilizers from anywhere in the area. This time fertilizers are easily available to farmers. There is a shortage of fertilizers in the Kharif season, for which preparation needs to be done from now. At present, the demand for fertilizers by farmers is being reduced. The District Magistrate directed that the availability and physical quantity of the fertilizers available in the district should be verified in the POS so that the actual quantity of availability of fertilizers is known. The fertilizer rate chart was made available by the District Agriculture Officer.
The same MLA Mahishi suggested that the rate chart of fertilizers should be displayed through flex in the Block Headquarters and District Headquarters, so that the farmers have the correct information about the rate of fertilizers and do not have to face unnecessary problems. The District Officer directed that an inspection team should be constituted under the chairmanship of the Nodal Officer nominated by the District Administration along with the Block Development Officer, Block Agriculture Officer and the concerned Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, who will keep constant monitoring on the establishments and will inspect them.
