Kamla Harris News : Democratic Party's presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris, while paying tribute to the late Democratic Party MP Sheila Jackson Lee, mistakenly called herself the President. However, after some time she corrected her mistake and said Vice President, but in the meantime when Kamala Harris declared herself President, the audience cheered her lightly. Kamala Harris was also a little too passionate at that time.
Paying tribute to the late Sheila Jackson Lee at the church here yesterday, Kamala Harris spoke of Lee's contribution as a lawmaker and said she played a key role in recognising Juneteenth as a national day and passing tough laws to prevent atrocities against women. She also played a huge role in getting LGBTQ rights.
Lee has done a great service to the nation by drafting and introducing these bills (in Parliament). I was with President Biden and Lee when Biden signed this historic bill. I was a partner in introducing that bill and I am proud to be present there as President… Thus, when he introduced himself as President…(NT) instead of Vice President, the audience greeted him with mild cheers and light applause. However, Kamala Harris immediately corrected her slip of tongue and said, “I was present as Vice President when the President signed the bill.” This weakness of his also seemed to be predictive.
Former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton were also in attendance at the memorial service following Lee's funeral at Houston's Main Church.
