At present, no tsunami warning has been issued. The Seismological Agency of Philippines says that there is no information about any casualties due to the earthquake. It is worth mentioning that earthquakes occur regularly in the Philippines.
According to the Philippines newspaper The Manila Times, the epicenter of the earthquake was Surigao del Sur. At 6:22 am, strong tremors were felt in Lingig, Hinatuan and Bislig town of Surigao del Sur. Apart from this, tremors were also felt near Cateel, Davao Oriental, but the intensity of the earthquake here was 5.
In addition, rain is forecast across the country today, reports The Manila Times. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the southwest monsoon will most affect the regions of Western Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan. Thunderstorms will occur in Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan. The sky is expected to be cloudy. Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy.
