Kanpur, 02 August (HS). Robbers attacked a gas agency in Saadh police station area and carried out the robbery by taking the watchman hostage. The robbers fled after stealing 150 gas cylinders and 100 regulators along with batteries of many vehicles. Police reached the spot after getting information and started searching for the robbers with the help of CCTV.
Civil Line resident Pramod Tiwari reached Saadh police station on Friday and informed the police that he has a gas agency named Balaji Indian Gas Service on the outskirts of Daulatpur village in Saadh police station area. Mahadev Pal, a resident of Daulatpur village, is the watchman in the gas agency and he looks after it at night. Late night, the miscreants entered the gas agency by jumping over the boundary wall and took the watchman hostage. The miscreants had also brought a loader with them and the number of miscreants was six. The watchman resisted a lot from his level but his efforts were in vain and the miscreants broke the lock of the gas agency and took away 150 cylinders, 100 pieces of pressure regulators kept inside. Along with this, they opened the batteries of three loaders standing inside the gas agency and took them with them. Somehow the watchman freed himself and called the owner and informed him about the robbery in the gas agency.
The agency owner who reached the spot has filed a complaint about the robbery in the agency at Saadh police station. Saadh police reached the spot as soon as they got the information and started investigating the incident. Police station in-charge KP Singh said late in the evening that the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the shops located on Ramaipur Jahanabad road is being examined and the incident will be revealed soon.
