Accused Moin Khan is close to SP MP
It is noteworthy that in the shameful incident that took place in Ayodhya's Pura Qalandar police station area, SP leader Moin Khan and his servant are accused of raping and blackmailing a 12-year-old girl from backward class. Accused Moin Khan is said to be close to SP MP Awadhesh Prasad from Faizabad. A day earlier, Chief Minister Yogi had expressed deep displeasure while speaking on this matter in the assembly. He had strongly condemned the SP leaders for having a soft corner for the accused on behalf of the Samajwadi Party in this case.
A member of the State Child Rights Protection Commission was sent to meet the girl
After meeting the mother of the victim on Friday, the Chief Minister has directed the officials to make special arrangements for the health and safety of the girl. CM Yogi also directed Anita Agarwal, member of the State Child Rights Protection Commission, to meet the rape victim girl in Ayodhya District Women's Hospital. The commission member who reached Ayodhya enquired about the condition of the victim girl and held a special meeting with her family and assured them of justice. She said that the brutality with a 12-year-old girl in Ayodhya is a condemnable incident. The family has informed that the girl often used to go to work in the fields. She was lured and brutalized. Strict action is being taken against the accused so that the culprits get the harshest punishment. We have also been assured about this by the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police.
SP has been humiliated in the house
Zero tolerance policy towards crimes against women is among the top priorities of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), dowry death rate in Uttar Pradesh has decreased by 17.43, rape by 25.30, molestation by 16.56 and kidnapping by 0.17 percent. If we look at the national average of crimes against women, crimes against women have reduced significantly in Uttar Pradesh from 2017 to 2022. From 2017 to 2022, crimes increased more in Telangana, Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Maharashtra as compared to UP. In the case of rape, more crimes were committed in Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Rajasthan and Jharkhand during this period than in Uttar Pradesh.
Special attention will be given to the safety of the girl child
Commission member Anita Agarwal instructed the Chief Medical Officer to first shift the victim from the general ward to a private ward and not allow any unknown person to meet her. She told the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police that keeping in mind the safety of the victim, strict security arrangements should be made at the district hospital and her residence. She instructed the District Probation Officer to open a bank account for the girl and provide her the benefits of public welfare schemes run by the government. The member of the Child Rights Protection Commission reviewed the situation while meeting the district level officials in this regard and said that this is a very shameful incident, which the Chief Minister himself has taken cognizance of and called the victim's mother for a meeting and I have been sent here immediately to investigate.
