Moradabad, 02 August (HS). A woman living in the Civil Lines area of the city filed a complaint in the police station. She has alleged that her husband and in-laws harassed her when her dowry demand was not met. She was thrown out of her in-laws' house and then her husband gave her triple talaq after she came to her parents' house.
Shayra, a resident of Chakkar Ki Milak in Civil Line area, told the police in her complaint that she was married to Shamim, a resident of Sirkoi Bhud in Bhogpur Mithoni of Majhola police station area, on June 18, 2020. A few days after the marriage, her husband, brother-in-law Salim, sister-in-law Shahnaz, brother-in-law Shahrukh, second sister-in-law Mehnaz and brother-in-law Ayyub started demanding a bike and three lakh rupees in dowry. When the demand was not met, they started harassing her. Last month, her in-laws had thrown her out of her in-laws' house, since then she started living in her maternal home. On July 06, her husband Shamim came to her maternal home with his friend Salim and abused her. On protest, he beat her and gave her triple talaq.
Inspector Civil Line Manish Saxena said that based on the complaint of the victim woman, a case has been registered against six people including her husband and investigation has been started.
