Prayagraj, 02 August (HS). Prayagraj district has received less rainfall than expected, due to which all the ponds, wells, canals are dry and due to power cuts, paddy sowing could not be done as there was no irrigation from private tube wells. Therefore, Prayagraj district should be declared drought affected.
These things were said by MP Ujjwal Raman Singh in Lok Sabha. He said that the district should be declared drought-affected and help should be provided to the farmers as soon as possible so that they do not face any financial burden. He said that if the farmers are not helped and their problems are not solved in time, a food crisis may arise in the district. Therefore, the farmers should be helped soon.
SP state secretary Vinay Kushwaha said that MP Ujjwal Raman Singh also raised the issue of undeclared power cuts in Prayagraj in the Parliament. The state secretary said that the public is suffering due to the burnt transformers not being replaced for months and line faults along with the negligence and corruption of linemen. There is no one to look after them. The officials are happy, the public is distressed.
