Beirut, August 02 (HS). Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at Israel late Thursday night (local time) after the killing of its top commander Fuad Shukar. However, it is being said that only five rockets entered Israel. According to the Israel Defense Forces, there is no report of any damage or injury to any civilian in the rocket attacks. The Israel Defense Forces also retaliated and attacked Hezbollah's rocket launcher in Yater, southern Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that 12 children were killed in Hezbollah's attack on a football field in Israel's Golan Heights on 27 July. In revenge for this, Israel killed Hezbollah's top commander Fuad in Beirut. After Fuad's death, tension has increased between Hezbollah and Israel. 48 hours after Fuad's death, Hezbollah carried out rocket attacks on Israel's western Galilee. It has also taken responsibility for this.
Hezbollah claimed it fired dozens of rockets at the northern border community of Metzuba in response to an earlier Israeli attack on the Lebanese village of Chama. Four Syrians were reportedly killed in Chama and several Lebanese civilians were injured. The Israel Defense Forces said it retaliated by attacking a Hezbollah rocket launcher in Yater, Lebanon, which was being used to bomb the western Galilee. The rocket launcher was destroyed.
“Following an alert activated in the western Galilee region, several rockets were detected from Lebanon, some of which were shot down in mid-air, while others fell in open areas. There were no casualties,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a post on X. Israel also said that Hamas military wing commander Mohammed Deif was killed in an air strike in the southern Gaza Strip on July 13. Israel confirmed this a day after the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
