Firozabad, July 30 (HS). The court on Tuesday sentenced the accused of kidnapping and raping a minor to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. He was also fined. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo additional punishment.
A sixteen year old girl resident of Thana Fariha area had gone to the market with her elder sister. The elder sister had gone to the beauty parlor. The younger sister had gone to the tailor's shop to buy a blouse. During this time, a young man lured the younger sister and took her away. The girl's mother filed a case against Umesh Chandra son of Manik Chandra resident of Jahazpur Thana Tundla.
After investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against Umesh in the court under sections of luring, kidnapping and raping a minor. The case was heard in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Special Judge POCSO Court No. 3 Rajiv Singh. Special Public Prosecutor Kamal Singh, who is pleading the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that many witnesses testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court. On the basis of the testimony of the witnesses and evidence, the court held Umesh guilty. The court sentenced him to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. He also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional one year of imprisonment. The court has ordered to give 50 percent of the fine to the victim.
