Agra, July 30 (HS). In the district, joint teams of Kamla Nagar police station, SOG and surveillance arrested the main gang leader who had absconded after looting a businessman in an encounter. The miscreant was injured by a bullet and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. On his information, the police have arrested three other accused of the gang and started action.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Nagar Suraj Rai told on Tuesday that the robbers had escaped after carrying out a robbery on a businessman in Kamla Nagar area a few days ago. Police teams were searching for the criminals after identifying them on the basis of CCTV footage. On Monday night, Kamla Nagar police station, SOG CT and surveillance team received information about the criminals involved in the robbery incident escaping from the area. On this, the joint police teams surrounded the main mastermind of the robbery incident Saurabh on the basis of accurate information. Seeing the police cordon, the robber started firing. In retaliation, the miscreant got shot in the leg and fell injured. The police caught him and admitted him to the hospital for treatment in an injured condition. During interrogation, the police teams also arrested three other accomplices involved in the crime by raiding.
The DCP said that a total of four people including the main gang leader have been arrested in the robbery incident. One and a quarter lakh rupees have been recovered from their possession. A pistol, cartridges etc. have also been recovered. Further action is being taken in the case.
