According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake started at around 1 pm local time. Its epicenter was five miles below the ground. Apart from San Bernardino County, the effect of the earthquake was felt in Los Angeles, Kern, Riverside and Orange Counties. In these places, the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 3.5 and 2.7 on the Richter scale.
