Paris, July 29 (HS). Arjun Babuta came very close to a podium spot in the 10m men's air rifle event at the Paris Olympics on Monday, but had to settle for fourth place.
Babuta tried to make it to the top three for most of the time but fell behind after a score of 9.5 in the final shot.
Earlier, Babuta shot a total of 630.1 points in the 60-shot qualification series to finish seventh. Babuta is the third Indian to qualify for the shooting final at the Paris 2024 Games.
The first Indian was Manu Bhaker, who reached the final of the women's 10m air pistol and won a bronze medal. The second Indian was Ramita Jindal, who finished seventh in the women's 10m air rifle final.
