Badaun, 28 July (HS). When the body of Mohit Rathod, who was martyred in a terrorist encounter in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, reached his native village Sawa Nagar village of Islamnagar police station area on Sunday, a huge crowd gathered. Thousands of people reached to pay tribute to him. Here people bid him farewell with moist eyes. Before this, all the officials including DM Nidhi Shrivastava and SSP Dr. Brajesh Singh gave him a guard of honor. The army contingent also played the mourning tune of the bugle.
When the body of the martyr reached the village, thousands of people joined his funeral procession which started from Islamnagar. The crowd also raised slogans like 'Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega Mohit Tera Naam Rahega', 'Pakistan Murdabad'. Thousands of people kept gathering to have his last glimpse.
Mohit Rathod, the only son of farmer Nathu Singh, a resident of Sawa Nagar village of Bilsi tehsil, joined the army in 2017. Mohit's squad was suddenly attacked by terrorists around 2:00 am on Friday night. In which he was martyred. The family members of martyr Mohit Rathod told that Mohit Rathod was hit by seven bullets. Relatives also told that Mohit was posted from Rajasthan to Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir about 20 days ago.
The wife had talked to Mohit at night
-Mohit's wife Ruchi told that she spoke to him on Friday night around 8:00 pm. Then Mohit told his wife that he is going to sleep. He has duty from 2:00 pm and after a few days he is going to come on a long leave. When Mohit's wife sent him a good morning message, she did not get any reply. After this, when she called at 10:00 am, someone else picked up the phone and asked her to let him talk to Mohit's father. After some time, it was known that Mohit has been martyred in a terrorist attack. There is a wave of mourning in the entire district over the martyrdom of Mohit who was martyred in the terrorist attack.
People raised slogans of Pakistan Murdabad
-People who participated in the last journey of martyr Mohit Rathod were angry with Mohit's martyrdom and raised slogans of Pakistan Murdabad. A crowd of lakhs of people from across the district participated in the last journey of martyr Mohit and all the crowd paid tribute to Mohit at the funeral site and raised slogans against Pakistan. A huge crowd of women also gathered on the roadside to see Mohit's last journey. Everyone was seen standing together in a sad atmosphere to get a last glimpse of Mohit.
DM, SSP and leaders paid tribute along with army soldiers
-Before the last rites of martyr Mohit Rathod, he was given a final farewell with state honours. On the occasion of the farewell, the army soldiers also paid tribute by giving the God of Honour. Apart from this, DM Nidhi Shrivastava, SSP Dr. Brijesh Singh, all the MLAs and leaders of the district paid tribute to Mohit.
