Kanpur, 28 July (HS). The monsoon trough line sometimes moves towards north and sometimes towards south. Due to this, heavy rain was seen in Uttar Pradesh for only a few days in the month of July and light to moderate rain continued locally. In such a situation, the rainfall in the month of July till now has been nine percent less than the expected rainfall. However, there are indications of good rain from 1st August.
Dr. S N Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Sunday that the monsoon has been weak in Uttar Pradesh for the past several days and there is patchy rain at the local level. Along with this, the humid heat due to strong sunlight is troubling people. People are expecting good rain. During this time, the reason for less rain was the monsoon trough line shifting from Uttar Pradesh to the south. Along with this, the monsoon which should have come to Uttar Pradesh from the Bay of Bengal was still going towards China due to the direction of the winds. However, in the beginning of July, there was heavy rain in the entire Uttar Pradesh. Despite this, the rainfall in Uttar Pradesh could not reach the figure that should have been there.
Till now 313.2 mm of rain was to have fallen in the month of July, but only 285.9 mm of rain could have fallen. Thus, till now in the month of July, Uttar Pradesh has received nine percent less rain. However, now once again the direction of the winds has changed and the monsoon will become active in Uttar Pradesh from the night of July 30, which will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains till February 4. If we talk about the whole country, till now in the month of July, there has been three percent less rain.
