A woman who extorted money from a cafe owner by claiming to be an IAS officer has been arrested along with her three accomplices

Kaushambi police of Ghaziabad has arrested an 18-year-old girl and her three companions who had demanded two lakh rupees from a cafe owner by intimidating him by claiming to be an IAS officer. Police have recovered a fake ID card and appointment letter (IAS), a car with blue light and 15 thousand rupees from their possession.

ACP Swatantra Kumar said that Satish, the operator of Angithi Cafe of Kaushambi police station, filed an FIR that an unknown woman and her three accomplices cheated him by claiming to be IAS officers and demanded Rs 2 lakh. Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, on Saturday, the Kaushambi police team, on the information of an informer, arrested a woman Komal Taneja, resident of Vikas Puri Delhi, Amit Kumar resident of Shalimar Garden Extension, Amit Sharma resident of Mewla Bhatti police station Loni and Tijarif village Idrishpur police station Baraut district Bagpat, who cheated by claiming to be an IAS officer.

During interrogation, the accused got agitated and showed the appointment letter to the police on mobile. Which has been issued by the Government of India on number 14016/09/2022-UTS-I dated 27.09.2022 by Govind Mohan Additional Security (UT). When asked, the person sitting next to the driver's seat told his name as Amit Kumar, the person sitting on the driver's side in the back seat told his name as Amit Sharma. On suspicion, all four persons were taken down from the car and questioned by police technical and psychological method, then all four told that we have a group. We have got blue and red lights installed on the car. Home Ministry Additional Director is written on the front of the car and Government of India at the back. We go to cafes etc. in NCR at night and threaten people by telling Komal Taneja to be an IAS officer and collect money. One lakh rupees were fixed from Angithi Cafe at night. Out of which 20 thousand rupees were taken from the cafe owner at night. Which we had divided among ourselves. Today I was going to Angithi Cafe to get the remaining money when you people caught me.
